Andy

Wardlaw

Global Managing Director,
Tech & Innovation

Andy started his career just as the first wave of digital businesses were beginning to establish themselves, transforming entire industries and generating a need for a new breed of innovative, hybrid talent. Joining the first digital specialist search firm, he found himself helping to structure and staff the nascent UK teams of Amazon, Microsoft, AOL & eBay, as well as the first digital communications agencies. Advising businesses and senior talent within the creative and technology sectors has been the focus of his career. He has built cross-functional internal talent team and led staffing and talent strategy internationally for leading creative businesses, including AKQA. He has also run his own talent consultancy. Andy believes that the key to sustainable commercial success is the alignment of transformational talent with business transformation and growth strategy. Since re-joining The Talent Business in 2016, he has been advising brand owners, tech platforms, consultancies and communications agencies on their senior hires, identifying and securing leaders capable of driving business transformation. He has also worked with agency groups on their business acquisition strategies, and advised brand owners on the selection of agency partners. Charlie

Thomas

CEO, Asia Pacific

After graduating from Bristol University I embarked on my career in advertising at Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe. Having spent six years at RKCR I moved to BBH London in 2001 to handle Barclays, Axe (Lynx) and Robinsons. I moved into headhunting in 2005 and moved to Singapore in 2007 to set up and run The Talent Business. Not only is this an incredibly exciting market for the communications industry, it is also a great place from which to explore Asia and indulge in my passion for sport both on land and sea.

Emma

Ward

European Managing Director,

Emma spent 16 years in London advertising agencies, always with a focus on developing diverse and effective teams in order to build high performing brands, before joining The Talent Business in 2010. As European Managing Director of The Talent Business’ Marketing & Business practice, Emma partners senior marketers and agency leaders, helping them to identify and secure transformational senior talent capable of driving innovation and delivering strategic and commercial impact. Emma works across a multitude of sectors for tech platforms, brand owners, product and business design consultancies and communications agencies. Lindsay

Joy

Managing Director NA,
Creative & Design

Born and raised in the woods of New England, I began my journey to New York to follow my dream of becoming a professional playwright. In addition to my own creative endeavours, I immersed myself in all things talent and advertising after finding my home at The Talent Business. I’m innately curious about people and culture, and I have found working as a playwright has given me a passion to support the careers of creative talent. I seek out transformative creative leaders, and genuinely care about helping my talent find their way to the right opportunity. When I’m not in the office, you can find me drinking copious amounts of caffeinated beverages whilst furiously writing award winning plays that have been produced and published all over the world.

Laura

Stroup

Consulting Managing Director NA,
Business & Marketing

Laura started her career in Account Management in the storied era of 2003 CP+B Miami, before making a move to New York where she held account roles across Grey, BBH, and Droga5 on iconic brands including IKEA, Levi's, Axe, Clairol and Puma. In 2010, the lightbulb moment came – a passion of connecting creative people – and started her recruitment career at The Talent Business. After six years there in Global Executive Search, she made the pivot back to agency life as Head of Talent for BBH North America and SVP Talent at BBDO. She can be found between Williamsburg and Upstate NY with her husband and dog, with a flight to London always in the books.

Philippa

Campbell

Managing Director NA,
Strategy & Innovation

Growing up with a mother who went to British drama college and a father who moonlighted as a DJ on the River Thames, I suppose it’s no surprise that I knew from a young age I wanted to work and surround myself with creative people. A few weeks after graduating, I moved to New York City to take my first job with BBDO working on VISA, Home Depot and Bank of America. After starting out in NY, I moved to San Francisco to join Goodby Silverstein & Partners to help launch HP’s Effie award-winning campaign “The Computer is Personal Again.” Six years later I returned to BBDO in NY to work on Hewlett Packard Enterprise while also leading 3M’s global rebranding. Prior to joining The Talent Business, I spent two years at Droga5 NY, transforming Under Armour’s marketing with their first global campaign. During my career I have partnered some of the world’s biggest brands and helped them transform their marketing communication. In my experience it takes a long term approach to building relationships to deliver successful business transformation and commercial success. I am thrilled to be part of a team at The Talent Business that understands the challenges involved in helping companies find the best senior talent to shape the most effective teams, and also cares so deeply about helping individuals reach their full potential. When I’m not working, I'm spending time with my family plotting or living out our next adventure!

Will

Knox

European Head of Creative & Design

Will spent his youth harbouring ambitions to become many things; a rugby player, an actor, a musician. Unfortunately, for one reason or another, be it ability or application, he was unable to make these goals a reality. (He says it was ability, by the way). Since joining the The Talent Business in 2009, Will has partnered the world’s leading creative businesses, helping them to identify and secure transformational senior creative talent. He now heads up The Talent Business’ European Creative & Design practice out of the Group’s London office. When not running the Creative & Design practice, you’ll find him bothering people about music, barbeques, and Arsenal FC.

Olivia

Skone

European Head of Business & Marketing

Olivia spent her formative years in some of London’s top creative agencies of their time, including WCRS, CHI&Partners, and RKCRY&R, producing award winning campaigns for Marks & Spencer, The Times and The Sunday Times, Land Rover and TalkTalk. She has also held marketing role at the start up Espotting.com and the media owner ITV, where she worked on the pioneering strategy for advertiser funded programming. Olivia completed a post grad in periodical journalism and had her two sons (which she describes as her most challenging role so far) before joining The Talent Business in 2013. She describes working with transformational senior talent at The Talent Business as finding her ‘True North’. Olivia heads up The Talent Business’ European Marketing & Business practice out of the Group’s London office. She partners a broad range of brand owners, tech platforms, consultancies and communications agencies, helping them to identify and secure transformational hires. Her primary focus has been marketing leadership roles with brand owners & tech platforms, and business leadership roles for communications agencies.

Oliver

Meschke

Managing Director, Germany

I’m a native Berliner who has worked for BBDO for thirteen years in both Germany and the US, leading network clients that included Mars, PepsiCo, Daimler, Bayer Healthcare, Wrigley and Allianz, before co-founding Global Agency Search, the consultancy division of The Talent Business specialising in agency search and selection. Headquartered in Berlin, Global Agency Search is the only agency search consultancy that has senior teams on the ground in all the key markets in the world. We deliver unparalleled global intelligence, enabling brand owners to make better informed decisions when it comes to securing game changing agency partners. We also advise agency groups on a broad range of M&A projects globally and have oversight of some of the executive search assignments that The Talent Business handles in Germany. I’m a married man and the proudest dad on this planet. When I’m not being a husband and dad, I’m a huge fan of Japanese Chanbara movies and martial arts.

Linda

Khoo

Managing Director, China

Armed with a Bachelor of Arts degree, little knowledge of the world of advertising and lots of enthusiasm, I wrote to all the agencies in Singapore asking for a break...and that started my twenty year journey into the manic world of advertising and communications. I've spent the last fifteen years in China and led major accounts and offices in McCann, D'Arcy and Y&R, in Beijing and Shanghai. I've also been fortunate to have worked with many talented people around the world, but one key issue that continues to plague the industry has been Talent and even with 1.3 billion people, China is talent starved. I currently help Talent and Agency networks find a strategic fit.

Sam

van Iddekinge

Managing Partner, Asia Pacific
Head of Creative

Born into a family of Doctors and Creative Directors, I always knew I wanted to do something more creatively focussed - so it was either going to be as a plastic surgeon or to work for an Ad agency. After graduating from Witwatersrand University in Johannesburg I was drawn into the crazy dot.com explosion, working for the leading online consumer portal in South Africa, iAfrica.com for 2 years before the advertising industry hooked me in. I worked my way up at Leo Burnett leading the Coca-Cola, Diageo and Levi’s accounts, before joining start-up Agency “Stick”, with the Coca-Cola business. In 2008 I moved to Singapore to join Euro RSCG (now Havas) overseeing their Coca-Cola and FMCG portfolio and 2 years later Ogilvy & Mather as a Regional Business Director. In late 2011 The Talent Business gave me a refreshing new perspective into a world I thought I knew so well. Passionate about great ideas and people, I love being able to work closely with some of the brilliant minds behind these, in my role leading the creative practise across Asia Pac. Asia remains a dynamic market in the communications industry, with opportunities at both a global and regional level, and a drive to be more innovative in their thinking. Outside of work - it’s also just an amazing location to explore and enjoy beautiful beaches, warm weather and friendly and diverse cultures and food.

Dr Christian

Loos

Managing Director, MEA
Global Head of Healthcare
& Business Intelligence

After completing a PhD in Neuroscience, I entered advertising as a planner with M&C Saatchi, first in Melbourne and then in London. My career then took me into brand and marketing consultancy, with London independent ascension, working with bluechips like Unilever, Interbrew, Sony, Ernst & Young and easyJet in markets all over the world. In 2005 I arrived in Dubai and became a founding partner of creative hotshop The Tribe. Senior roles at Cheil Worldwide and JWT Dubai followed. In 2012 I joined The Talent Business to lead its Dubai office and provide our clients with access to the world’s and the region’s best creative talent as well as talent with a springboard to do great work and build rewarding careers.
